Cambodia Eu Trade Agreement

The partial suspension of EBA`s trade preferences in Cambodia will cover certain clothing and footwear products as well as all travel items and sugar. After a transitional period of six months, the sectors affected by the suspension are subject to import duties on entry into the EU market. If the Cambodian government complies with the EBA`s human and labour rights requirements, the Commission could restore preferences. The Commission could have requested a total suspension and may also increase the scope of the suspension if the situation deteriorates. “The signing of this agreement signifies an even stronger bond between the two countries and marks another important historical milestone for Cambodia-China relations,” he said.
